GMS Summer Football Camp to be Held in Conjunction with GHS Camp

Register Today for Glenwood's Summer Sports Camps!The Glenwood Summer Sports Camps are designed to give boys and girls of all levels, beginners to advanced, the opportunity to develop their individual skills under the guidance and direction of the Glenwood High School Coaching Staff. Each camp will emphasize basic techniques, fundamental skills and physical fitness. More importantly, the Summer Camps strive to develop interest and enthusiasm for sports and athletics.
An overview (and registration form) of each camp offered through Glenwood Athletics can be viewed here. The camps will be led by experienced high school coaches, and assisting will be collegiate and high school athletes. The specific ages listed for each camp are according to the grade the child will enter in the Fall of 2013.
Please complete the registration form and sign the waiver to allow your child to participate. Participation is not limited to students in the Ball-Chatham School District. Please register by May 10 to ensure your child will receive items provided by the camp. Entries received after May 24 are subject to a late fee of $5 per child, per camp.

YEARBOOKS
Yearbooks will be distributed on Wednesday, May 22 during WIN classes. Additional yearbooks will be available to purchase from Mrs. Sanford, Room 106 on Friday, May 24. There is a limited supply, so sales will be on a first come, first serve basis.

Semester Exam Schedule
Wednesday, May 22nd – Science, Spanish
Thursday, May 23rd – Math 2, History
Friday, May 24th – Geometry, German and French (9:30-11:00)
All 8th grade students will participate in an abbreviated Freshmen Advantage Program on Friday, May 24 from 11:30 am - 2:00 pm at Glenwood High School to assist in the transition from middle school to high school. Students will leave Glenwood Middle School at 11:00 am and return at 2:30 pm on this date. During their time at GHS, students will eat lunch utilizing their current lunch account.

Listed below are the tryout and start dates for fall athletics at Glenwood Middle School and Intermediate School. All athletes must have a current physical within the last 395 days in order to tryout, practice or participate. A link to the IESA physical form is also below. Physicals can either be turned into the office at GMS and GIS or to the coaches the first day. Cross Country: First day of practice for interested 6th, 7th and 8th graders is August 5th from 8:30am-9:45am at the GMS track. Beginning August 6th until the start of school, practice will be from 8:30am-9:45am at the Chatham Community South Park.
Baseball: Tryouts will be held August 8thth and 9th. All tryouts and practices will be held at the baseball field at GIS. 7th grade will tryout from 9am-10:30am. 8th grade will tryout from 10:30am-12pm.
Softball: Tryouts will be August 5th and 6th. All tryouts and practices will be held on the softball field at GIS. 7th grade will tryout from 9am-10:30am. 8th grade will tryout from 10:30am-12pm.
Football: Practice will start on August 1st for interested 7th and 8th graders. Practices will be from 8:00am until 1:00pm until the start of school. Once school starts, practices will begin directly after school. All practices will be held on the field behind GIS.

Box Tops
If you missed the promotion in January, you get another chance! There will be a 60 Bonus Box Tops promotion at Meijer from now through April 27, 2013. For every 10 Box Tops items you purchase, you will receive a 60 Bonus Box Tops voucher printed at the register. That is SIX DOLLARS to our schools plus the extra $1 generated by each of the box tops. The 10 items must be purchased in one transaction and there is a limit of one voucher per transaction. If you purchase 20 items, ring them up as two separate purchases of 10 items in order to maximize the number of vouchers.
